Mark Warwick – Founder/Consultant

Mark brings with him 14 years of Military training, leadership and mental health expertise having served on extremely demanding operations around the world, followed by spending the past 6 years in business. He also has a Neuro-Linguistic Programming Qualification, which when combined with an admirable desire to stand by the values he lived and fought by during his military service, has enabled Mark to develop a unique and insightful perspective to the training and consultancy he conducts. Mark’s wealth of personal, practical and professional experience over 20 years will guarantee a direct and powerful impact on all those he works with.

Mark started Mental Health Matters (WMM) with the aspiration of providing a better understanding of Mental H

ealth generally and to as many people as possible. As a business, WMM is highlighting the importance of implementing a Workplace Mind Wellness framework, that will provide essential support to individuals, organisations, businesses and their employees.

Mark’s experiences gained whilst serving in the Army and his successful time in business, combined with the courage, values and gritted determination demonstrated through his own personal struggle with PTSD and a debilitating spinal injury, that will inspire and empower those he meets.

Mark is also in the process of setting up the charity First Step Forward (FSF) that is focused on providing essential advice, training and signposting services to Military personnel, Veterans and their partners around mental health awareness and the impact on ignoring these signs.  The vision of FSF is for Military personnel, Veterans and their partners to have a better understanding of mental health, so that they can provide self-help and manage their symptoms, whilst waiting to be seen by the relevant professionals.

These various events and encounters have inspired Andrew to help as many others as possible and naturally he’s now also a qualified Mental Health First Aider.

Julie Smith – Therapy Consultant/Trainer

During her own journey of health and wellbeing, Julie came across Reiki, which was her first introduction to mind-body connections and how this can impact on one’s wellbeing. This led onto training in Reflexology, qualifying as a yoga teacher in 2008 with the Chi Yoga School, training as a Holistic Wellbeing Coach and also has an Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling.

Now as the founder of a Wellbeing centre, Julie has successfully managed to create a tranquil space in Northampton where people can focus on their health and wellbeing from the inside out – with a class, a treatment or just taking time out to stop and breathe.

Julie takes into consideration your needs as a whole, drawing on all her qualifications to offer you a personalised, all-round therapeutic treatment and as such is an integral part of the team.

Testimonials

A really interesting and engaging session today, thank you so much for attending. It’s not often that such a session will provide a full action plan for an organisation and some really key areas to address, in order to address Mental Health within the workplace. Highly recommended any organisation having Mark come in and speak to your staff, your managers or your leaders! Thanks again Mark!

– Katy Frith, HR Manager, Havebury
